Scrum is a process framework that has been used to manage complex product development since the early 1990s. Scrum is not a process or a technique for building products; rather, it is a framework within which you can employ various processes and techniques. Scrum makes clear the relative efficacy of your product management and development practices so that you can improve.

Scrum was invented by Hirotaka Takeuchi and Ikujiro Nonaka in 1986 with the hopes that they would create a new approach to project management that looked at the project management process as a unit and not as an individual task. Scrum was then later picked up by other project managers in the early 1990s, including Ken Schwaber and Jeff Sutherland who were the first to write about the methodology and help standardize the practices. „Scrum“ refers to a move in Rugby in which a team packs together and they all act together to get the ball from one end of the field to another end of the field.

Scrum can be used in any type of project, incl. those outside of software development. Anytime you have a complex project, you may want to consider the Scrum Methodology as a viable way to handle the complexity in the project.

The Scrum framework consists of Scrum Teams and their associated roles, events, artifacts, and rules. Each com-ponent within the framework serves a specific purpose and is essential to Scrum’s success and usage. The rules of Scrum bind together the events, roles, and artifacts, governing the relationships and interaction between them.

Scrum is founded on empirical process control theory, or empiricism. Empiricism asserts that knowledge comes from experience and making decisions based on what is known. Scrum employs an iterative, incremental approach to optimize predictability and control risk. Three pillars uphold every implementation of empirical process control: transparency, inspection, and adaptation. The theory behind Scrum is easy. Doing Scrum is difficult.

The Scrum Team consists of a Product Owner, the Development Team, and a Scrum Master. Scrum Teams are self-organizing and cross-functional. Self-organizing teams choose how best to accomplish their work, rather than being directed by others outside the team. Cross-functional teams have all competencies needed to accomplish the work without depending on others not part of the team. The team model in Scrum is designed to optimize flexibility, creativity, and productivity.

Scrum Teams deliver products iteratively and incrementally, maximizing opportunities for feedback. Incremental deliveries of “Done” product ensure a potentially useful version of working product is always available.

Goal The Scrum Master PSM-I course aims to address the needs of those working in a Scrum environment and in parti-cular the role of the Scrum Master. Using soft skills plays an important part in the life of a Scrum Master. These will be described during the training course.

Course description The course is a 2 day program. The official Scrum Master PSM-I exam can be taken at home at a later date. The course consists of a mix of theory and practical exercises. Most of the exercises will be done in small groups. Every delegate receives access to our online classroom support environment, our PSM-I Event Manual with exercises and slides.

The PSM-I Examination assesses a candidate’s knowledge of Scrum through a one hour multiple-choice paper composed of 60 questions. Candidates must achieve 51 correct answers (85%) to pass.

Петер Кришел (Peter Krischel) – Холандия. Г-н Кришел има дългогодишен опит в консултирането и провеждането на обучения по PRINCE2 в над 20 държави (от 2001 г.) и е един от най-опитните международни лектори по метода. Той е официално одобрен преподавател по PRINCE2 от APMG. Досега е провел повече от 300 обучения по PRINCE2 с над 5000 участници, включително повече от 27 обучения в България.

Петер Кришел е завършил Бизнес (с курсове по ИТ и логистика) в Университета Енсхеде (Холандия) през 1994 г. Работил е като финансов мениджър, мениджър по качеството, ИТ бизнес мениджър и ръководител на проекти в Insights International BV, TAS Infrastructure Management, Unipro BV, Menken Polderland BV и Menzis Healthcare Insurance Company.

През 2003-2004 живее в САЩ, където обучава по PRINCE2 всички ръководители на проекти и мениджъри продажби на Sun Microsystems в САЩ (над 500 човека). Той е собственик и изпълнителен директор на Krischel Holding BV и Trans-Atlantic Consulting Group BV.

Страстта на Петер Кришел е да обучава мениджъри. Той не само ги обучава по PRINCE2, но и им показва как управлението на проекти може да се използва в много по-широк контекст на всички нива в организацията.
